AMARAVATI(Andhra Pradesh): The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday granted bail to former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development case.

Sunkara Krishnamurthy, an advocate from the Andhra Pradesh High Court, informed that Chandrababu Naidu, who was on interim bail until November 28, has now been granted regular bail in the case.
Representing Chandrababu Naidu, advocate Siddarth Luthra of the TDP legal teampresented arguments during the court proceedings.

The decision brought joy to TDP cadres and sympathizers.

Earlier in the month, Naidu had been released from Rajahmundry jail on October 31 after the Andhra Pradesh High Court provided him with interim bail in connection with the alleged skill development case. The interim bail, initially granted for four weeks, has now been extended with the recent decision.
Chandrababu Naidu had spent 53 days in judicial custody following his arrest by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in relation to the multi-crore skill development scam. The arrest had stirred political turmoil in the state, with TDP leaders asserting that it was a politically motivated “witch-hunt” based on false allegations.

Apart from the skill development case, Naidu is also implicated in two other corruption cases—the Fibernet scam and the Inner Ring Road scam. The Fibernet case involves alleged tender manipulation in awarding a work order worth Rs. 330 crore under Phase-1 of the Andhra Pradesh FiberNet Project. The CID has alleged irregularities in the entire project, from tender allocation to project completion, causing substantial financial loss to the state exchequer.
